Error spotted in Yahoo Mail

Yahoo Mail back in the spotlights. Unfortunately for the Sunnyvale-based company, Yahoo Mail caught our attention due to an error which, according to Yahoo's officials, adds some unrequested text at the footer of the messages users compose. Ryan K, Community Manager, Yahoo Mail, wrote that the engineers have already identified the source of the problem and are currently working on it, the fix being expected sometimes in a day or two.

"We are aware that some users have noticed small amounts of text added to the footer of some messages after sending. Impacted messages will display text that reads "between 0000-00-00 and 9999-99-99" only after a message has been sent. The text is then visible to the sender (via the Sent folder) as well as to the recipient. We believe we have identified the root cause of the issue and hope to have it resolved within the next day or so. Please note that this should have no impact on your ability to send or receive mail," he wrote.

And still, there's no POP3/IMAP support, even if the users are continuously requesting it. Even today, when Ryan K. published the blog post to inform users about the Yahoo Mail error, a reader brought this feature in discussion.

"Maybe it's due to the IMAP feature that you're working on?" EM wrote on the official Yahoo Mail blog. Well, I highly doubt it but one thing is sure: Yahoo continuously ignores the messages/requests asking for POP3/IMAP which may be a sign that the company prepares such an update.

However, for the being you're still able to use POP3 in your Yahoo Mail account in case you're willing to pay for it because the Plus version of the web-based email service is available for 20 bucks.
