It's a well-known fact that all the web companies struggle to compete with Google in many domains and only a few of them manage to become a real competitor for the search giant.
For example, Yahoo Mail is probably the toughest rival Gmail could get because it was rumored that Yahoo's product is even more popular than Google's. In the recent period the two companies got focused on the mail technologies so much that they forgot about the search engine battle which was regarded as one of the most interesting disputes on the web. However, a new challenge was started today when Yahoo stepped into the video sharing industry with a new technology especially addressed to Japanese users.

Although everybody was talking about Yahoo's plans to evolve into the market with the Japanese beta product, nobody noticed that Google is already there and moreover, it leads the battle. I'm not talking about the global popularity of YouTube because it's well known that this video sharing service technology has a supremacy which can't be defeated. I'm referring to the Japanese version of YouTube which is already in final stage, in comparison with its rivals which struggle to become more active on the market.

At this time, there are two powerful companies which look to fight with Google in the Japanese market: Sony with its eyeVio and Yahoo with the new video sharing service. But the interesting aspect is that both services are available in beta versions while YouTube is accessible as a final product.

What's more attractive is that YouTube continues to grow up and it rolls out new regional versions in numerous countries. First, it was only the global YouTube. Then, ten new countries received their own flavor of the Google video sharing service. A few days ago, two new nations got one. Today, New Zealand was lucky and obtained its YouTube. Come on Google, I want my own YouTube!
