Completely free games are starting to become a trend

Whenever they're not busy rejecting purchase offers from Microsoft, the people at Yahoo work on delivering more titles to their online service. The best thing about their decision to bring even more fun releases for us to enjoy is the fact that they're planning to keep the games 100% free. This means that all the free titles we'll download from their online service will be ad-supported. And according to studies, gamers have nothing against in-game ads, so everybody should be happy.

In order to keep the advertisements as low profile as possible, Yahoo has partnered with Double Fusion which will sell and integrate pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll video ads into Yahoo's games catalog. Of course, if you prefer to play without any sponsors bothering you, there are paid-for versions of the titles available, too.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Yahoo! Games to bring our fusion.runtime technology to their large portfolio of high quality downloadable casual games," said Jonathan Epstein, President and CEO of Double Fusion. "We believe there is a game out there for everyone and our dynamic ad-serving solution and sales experience provides Yahoo! Games an opportunity to finally integrate ad campaigns on-the-fly to their mass audience of 18-49 year old game-loving consumers."

Double Fusion promises to satisfy the needs of both publishers and consumers by targeting ads flawlessly and creating enjoyable short videos which will actually make the gaming experience more pleasant. Honestly, we believe it's time for something like that to happen and it would be great if Yahoo managed to do it, since the Internet giant has no less than 400 games on offer, waiting to be downloaded and enjoyed for free.

Double Fusion is currently working with over 30 top-tier game publishers and has a portfolio targeted at kids and even adults.
