Yahoo! has released an updated version of its iOS application, adding a new pull-to-refresh function to get updated content faster and more conveniently. The company also claims that the next update will drop iOS 4 support.

Yahoo! version 2.3.6 lets you “get updated content more easily with ‘Pull down to refresh’,” and also includes performance improvements and bug fixes, such as a patch for issues where the App would unexpectedly quit on certain devices.

But Yahoo! says this is the last time it struggles to fix bugs for old configurations. Starting with the next version, iOS 4 users are out.

“Support for iOS 4 will be removed in the next release. If you are using this operating system, please update your operating system to continue using this App,” reads the notice.

Yahoo! 2.3.6 continues to be compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad under iOS 4.3. The app is also optimized for iPhone 5.
