The Sunnyvale California based online giant has released Yahoo! Music Jukebox, a desktop client for which Yahoo has conjugated its Music Engine and MusicMatch Jukebox applications.
Yahoo! Music Jukebox will enable users to manage their music through a professional organizing scheme complete with rip and burn features, customize audio settings through a brand new equalizer, compile playlists and also perform file transfers to connected portable devices. Moreover, the client will allow users to browse other Yahoo subscribers' music collections, preview recently launched albums and songs and even tap into a conglomerate of 120 online radio stations.
"This new version of the Yahoo! Music Jukebox enables our users to take advantage of the combined strengths of the Yahoo! Music Engine and the Musicmatch Jukebox in one fully-integrated experience," stated Dave Goldberg, vice president and general manager of Yahoo! Music.
Yahoo's initiative is the evolution of the company's acquisition of MusicMatch services in 2004, and aims at concentrating Yahoo music subscribers on a single platform. Yahoo has also provided its customers with the option to choose a Premium variant of the client, dubbed as Music Jukebox Plus, that comes with a $19.99 price tag and additional features at increased speeds.
Through Jukebox, Yahoo customers will also access Yahoo! Music Unlimited, where they will be able to either stream or download music, provided they are willing to pay for both services.
