Yahoo! seems set to gain some more market share on the mobile space, which is dominated by Google, and has just made some new steps in this direction, through signing exclusive deals to power Android-based devices available at Sprint and T-Mobile in the United States.

The Internet giant would offer various services and applications on these mobile phones, the company unveiled officially last week.

“We announced an extended partnership with Sprint around Sprint ID – providing Sprint customers with a Yahoo! ID pack of services, including 1-click access to 12 different Yahoo! Android apps,” the company announced.

For those who might have missed last week's news, we should note that Sprint ID was announced as being present on new Android-based devices at the wireless carrier, including the Sanyo Zio and Samsung Transform, which were already put on sale.

Moreover, LG Optimus S is also expected to benefit from Sprint ID when landing on shelves later during the ongoing year.

The said Yahoo! ID pack should include some nice applications and services, such as Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Sports.

According to a recent article on AndroidHeadlines, the T-Mobile deal includes the integration of Yahoo! services in new handsets at the carrier, such as the newly unveiled myTouch device.

When making the myTouch official, T-Mobile also unveiled the fact that it would include a built-in Yahoo app for video calling, expanding the features set the service usually provides to users.

But this is not all when it comes to Yahoo!'s plans on the mobile phone market, is seems, as Reuters says that the company might plan on having built-in video calling capabilities in its Messenger app for all Android-based devices.

This is not a new feature to the mobile world, since many other applications and services already offer it to users, but it is something new for Yahoo! on mobile devices, that's for sure.

No specific info on when the feature would be announced officially for all Android devices out there emerged for the time being, but it might not be too long before Yahoo! makes the move.
