Yahoo Messenger is surely the most popular instant messaging client on the Internet because it allows you to communicate with friends, family or other users using more than the basic chat functions. For example, you can use many additional chat features such as webcam support, file transfer, audibles, emoticons, IM environments and many other abilities meant to enhance your chatting experience. At this time, Yahoo Messenger is available on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac and several Linux distributions. The product is free for everyone and can be used with a single Yahoo account compatible with other solution designed by the company.

So, it's obvious that Yahoo Messenger is a powerful instant messaging client. Although the company knows that, it seems like Yahoo wants to obtain some traffic from the application by placing ads and promotions into the interface of the program. Today, after Yahoo Messenger connected to the Internet, I opened a chat window and the program displayed the following tip: "Did you know? You can get the latest scoop on Yahoo! Messenger (plus tips, downloads, and more) at our brand new blog."

Although it is not quite a tip, it seems like the company is using the well known Yahoo Messenger to attract users to the blog where its employees are posting news and information about the downloadable application.

"Welcome to our blog. We hope you'll find this a fun place to find out what's happening with Yahoo! Messenger including new features, announcements, behind-the-scenes info, cool downloads and more. If you're not familiar with Yahoo! Messenger, here's the skinny:Yahoo! Messenger is a free product that makes it easy and fun to communicate with friends and family around the world," it is mentioned in the description of the service.
