As Microsoft and Yahoo move forward with the integration of Bing and Yahoo, the two companies will also work to transition all advertisers to the Redmond company’s advertising platform. According to Tina Kelleher, Online Community Content Manager for the adCenter team, Yahoo advertisers will need to begin the move to Microsoft adCenter soon. In this regard, the Sunnyvale search giant will start sending emails to its advertisers, advising them on how to make their way to Microsoft adCenter.

“If you do not have any PPC campaigns running on Yahoo!, there is no action for you to take with this post. If you do have campaigns running on Yahoo!, this is simply a heads up to keep an eye out for that email so you’ll have the information necessary to prepare for the transition period,” Kelleher noted.

Obviously, the move affects advertisers in the United States and in Canada, as these are the first two markets to experience the results of integrated Bing and Yahoo search engines. However, neither party offered a specific deadline related to the transition of Yahoo Search Marketing accounts to the Microsoft Advertising adCenter platform, while both indicated that the move is just around the corner.

“Soon, you’ll need to either create a new adCenter account, or link an existing adCenter account to your Yahoo! Search Marketing account. Later this month, advertisers will see an “adCenter” tab within their Yahoo! Search Marketing accounts. Clicking there will take you to the beginning of the account transition process, where we’ll walk you through the simple steps to create or link accounts,” explained a member of the Yahoo search marketing team..

By the end of this month, the organic (non-paid) search results from Yahoo will be powered by Microsoft’s search/decision engine, and in this regard, the Sunnyvale company is advising advertisers to be prepared. Obviously, this move will have the most impact on websites that rely on yahoo organic search results for referrals.
