Micromax-owned subsidiary YU has just confirmed that its second Android smartphone will make its debut on the market on May 12.

The first YU smartphone is very popular in India and sells under the Yureka market name. The device was launched in January and will start selling in the country on May 6-7 without registration.

Even though YU is about to release its first smartphone, it looks like the company has another device in the pipeline. The so-called YUphoria is the next device in the company's portfolio and should be officially unveiled on May 12.

It's unclear whether or not the YUphoria will go on sale on the same day it will be officially introduced in India, but more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.

Unfortunately, not many things are known about YU's YUphoria handset. The Indian company was pretty secretive with its upcoming smartphone's specs, so no one seems to have found anything related to YUphoria yet.

The second YU-branded smartphone may become very popular in India

Apart from the fact that the smartphone might sport an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, nothing else is known about YUphoria's hardware specs.

However, YU confirmed the smartphone will ship with Cyanogen OS 12, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The information has been recently confirmed by YU's co-founder Rahul Sharma.

Since we're about one week ahead of YUphoria 's official unveiling, there's a high chance that more details on the phone's specs sheet will leak online.

We will keep an eye out on any additional info on the YU's upcoming YUphoria launch, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

In other news, YU recently released Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Yureka smartphone, which was initially launched with KitKat OS right out of the box. That won't be the case with YUphoria which comes with Lolliop at launch.
