Not really breaking news, but it appears that Charlie Kravetz, the Xubuntu Project leader, has resigned last week, March 19th, 2012. This will not affect on the Xubuntu operating system!

Charlie Kravetz was the project leader of Xubuntu since January 27th, 2011. However, Kravetz was no longer project leader of Xubuntu when he resinged, as Pasi Lallinaho was already accommodating with his new function.

"Due to circumstances now surrounding the Xubuntu Project, I will no longer be able to participate in any capacity. For 18 months as Project Lead, I attempted to keep as many as possible involved with this project. Some of those individuals fought every attempt I made to better the project."

"Now, having observed the project from the sidelines for almost an entire release cycle, I find those individuals were actually playing some kind of games, for reasons I will never understand. As of the release of Precise Pangolin as Xubuntu 12.04, I am resigning any and all positions with the project. I wish the Xubuntu success in the future." - said Charlie Kravetz in an email to the Xubuntu mailinglist announcements.

Check our website tomorrow, March 29th, to find out what new features brings the Xubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 (Precise Pangolin) release.

Actually, I was not project lead any longer. I was project from April 2010 until October 2011, and Xubuntu Testing Lead from 2008 until now. The resignation is to insure the project would no longer on my testing, triaging, or other participation.

The is the typical scenario when you have a bunch moronic nerds trying to one-up each other in everything they get involved in. It just nerdidom! I have first hand account of this while working at Nextel in 2000. I hope someone from that era see this, because they know who they are. People who think they are bigger than God due to some small scrap of knowledge they possess will certainly destroy themselves with greed. In many cases, these IT junkies use their knowledge as a weapon to dominate others, because they are lacking in physical ability to be normal or compete with a co-workers physical attributes. A more direct way of putting this is... many people in IT are fat and unhealthy. They leverage their knowledge against others for personal satisfaction, because they are so weak in everything else. RB you know what you are.

Thanks Charlie. I can just imagine the fiasco happening at Canonical. I did like using Ubuntu until 10.10, when Mark decided to improve Gnome. Then I jumped on Kubuntu, only to be given the news of no offical support after 12.04.
But, I digress. The heart of this O/S is Linux, and there are plenty of forks to explore.
