Xubuntu developers have reached out to the community to help them choose a new set of default wallpapers for the 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) release.

Asking for the community input regarding the wallpapers is not something out of the ordinary and a lot of other distro developers are using the same methods.

“We’re happy to announce that for 14.04 we plan to integrate a set of good-looking wallpapers by default. This is a feature many have been lacking for a while, we repeatedly heard/read about it in reviews. And we think the upcoming 14.04 LTS release is the perfect time to finally tackle this issue” reads the announcement from the Xubuntu developers.

The wallpapers will need to follow a set or simple rules, which are explained in the announcement. This is very good news for the users who got tired of looking at the same images for the last few cycles.
