Canonical has announced that Xubuntu 13.10 Beta 2 (Saucy Salamander) operating system is now officially available for download.

This is the second development version for Xubuntu 13.10 and the last one before the final version arrives on October 17.

Things haven't changed too much since the previous Alpha version. The distribution is still based on Xfce 4.10, but now it's using the latest Linux kernel 3.11.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement. Starting from 13.04, the Xubuntu images will not fit on standard CDs anymore. To install Xubuntu, you will need other media such as a USB device or a DVD.

Download Xubuntu 13.10 Beta 2 (Saucy Salamander) right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
