• apt-offline is now provided in the default installation; • The distribution is using 3.9.0.7 Ubuntu Linux kernel, which is based on the upstream v3.9.7 Linux kernel; • The current version of Xubuntu is based on Xfce 4.10.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement.

Starting from 13.04, the Xubuntu images will not fit on standard CDs anymore. To install Xubuntu, you will need other media such as a USB device or a DVD. Download Xubuntu 13.10 Alpha 2 (Saucy Salamander) right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines.
