This is the first version that will not fit on a CD

Canonical has announced on March 15, the first Beta of the upcoming Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) operating system.

Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) Beta 1 is the first release, besides the daily build, but there aren't too many features.

Highlights of Xubuntu 13.04 Beta 1 (Raring Ringtail):

• Gnumeric and GIMP were reintroduced in the distribution; • A new version of Parole, 0.5.0, is now included; • Duplicate partitions are no longer shown on desktop or Thunar; • Some updates for the Greybird theme have been implemented.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement. Starting from 13.04, the Xubuntu images will not fit on standard CDs any more. To install Xubuntu, you will need other media such as a USB device or a DVD. Download Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) Beta 1 right now from Softpedia.
