Following the official release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Kubuntu 12.04 LTS, here comes Xubuntu 12.04 LTS, the Xfce based OS from Canonical.

Canonical has made some minor modifications to the new Xubuntu 12.04 LTS so the differences in comparison with the previous version are not all that significant.

First of all, the i386 image now uses a non-PAE kernel to support a bigger number of hardware configurations.

Other notable changes are: Pavucontrol is now used over xfce4-mixer, a number of default shortcuts were changed and added (a more detailed description of this changes can be found here), a lot of appearance tweaks and improvements, including fixes for Ubiquity, Plymouth and the Greybird theme, and of course, a new branding.

Take a lot at the Xubuntu 12.04 LTS screenhot tour.
