Canonical announced today, March 29th, that the second Beta and also the last development release of the upcoming Xubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) operating system is available for download.

Xubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 (Precise Pangolin) is powered by the Xfce 4.8 desktop environment and Linux kernel 3.2.12. It adds Pavucontrol instead of xfce4-mixer, and the i386 ISO image uses a non-PAE kernel to support more low-end machines.

As usual, Xubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 is distributed only as Live CD (Desktop and Alternate) ISO images, for both the 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

Read the complete announcement for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2.

Download Xubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is an alpha release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
