XtremeNotebooks is a computer hardware manufacturing company that really tries to live up to its name. Their laptops are said to bring the ultimate experience when it comes to raw processing power and high end hardware components, even more so since according to the news site TCMagazine, the company claims credit for the first quad core Intel processors ever to be installed in laptops designed and sold on the United States
market.

The company's latest gaming laptop series, the Xtreme 917V, comes in three basic configurations, allowing users some movement space when it comes down to the hardware layer. The Fusion model is the cheapest of the entire line and so it can be considered an entry level solution that will hit the market for only $2,399.00, while the more advanced models like the Reactor and the Accelerator come with higher price tags of $3,259.00 and $3,359.00, respectively.

Hardware configurations are all from the higher end of the spectrum, as the processor offerings start with Intel's E6300 Core 2 Duo CPU that runs at 1.86GHz and has 2MB of second level cache memory with a frontside bus that reaches a clock speed of 1066MHz. On the middle ground stands another processor from Intel, the Extreme Edition X6800 Core 2 Duo CPU, which reaches the 2.93GHz clock speed and comes equipped with 4MB of L2 of cache memory and a frontside bus running at 1066MHz. The top processor is represented by the "king of the hill" Intel Q6600, the quad core CPU which has a combined frequency of over 9GHz (2.40GHz x 4 cores) and has no less than 8MB of L2 cache memory while its FSB runs at the same standard frequency as the other ones. In the system memory department, the Xtreme 917V line comes with a standard 512MB of DDR2 memory running at 667MHz that can be upgraded to a maximum amount of 4GB. Storage capabilities are represented by the 60GB hard disk drive with SATA interface and 5400rpm that can be upgraded too to reach 160GB for increased storage capacity. On all models feature an optical DVD burner.

Graphics capabilities are another strong point for the Xtreme 917V line of laptops as they integrate a Nvidia SLI solution composed of two GeFroce Go 7950 GTX graphics cards while the 17 inch display reaches up to 1920x1200 definitions and provides high contrast and Super Crisp Glossy Panel Surface for XTREME Color Saturation.
