More Sony Ericsson smartphones make their way on the Indian market. After Xperia active, Xperia arc, Xperia Play and Xperia ray, Sony Ericsson officially announced the availability of two other devices, the Xperia neo V and Xperia pro.

Although Xperia neo V was available for purchase since last week from major retailer Flipkart for Rs 17,500 (about $357 or 260 EUR), the smartphone is now available from Airtel.

On related news, the Sony Ericsson pro is available for purchase in India for the first time at the same carrier, Airtel.

According to the folks over at AndroidOS, Sony Ericsson India and Airtel teamed up to offer free 500 MB data monthly for three months to each customer who purchases one of these two smartphones.

Even though the phones' hardware configuration may be similar, they are aimed at different targets, as the Xperia pro comes with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Furthermore, Xperia pro has a 3.7-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen (480 x 854 pixels resolution), which is based on Sony's Mobile BRAVIA technology and features a scratch-resistant surface.

In addition, Xperia pro packs 1 GB of internal memory (320 MB user available), 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

Unlike Xperia neo V that sports a 5-megapixel camera, the Xperia pro boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash, face and smile detection, HD (720p) video recording capabilities, as well as a secondary VGA front facing camera for video calls.

Each smartphone is equipped with a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor and run Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

Other highlights offered by the two Xperia smartphones include: HSDPA and HSUPA support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, DLNA function, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Stereo FM radio with RDS, along with GPS with A-GPS support.
