A while back, Sony Ericsson started to offer to the owners of Xperia PLAY devices the possibility to access new games via its PlayStation Store, and more devices can now enjoy the same feature.
Xperia PLAY was the only Playstation Certified smartphone at the time, but more devices from the company have received the certification, and they can now benefit from access to content available via the said storefront.
Sony Ericsson Japan has made the PlayStation Store official on more devices
, though only to users in the country.
Starting today, those who own an Xperia arc (SO-01C), Xperia acro (SO-02C), or Xperia PLAY (SO-01D) smartphone on the airwaves of NTT DoCoMo are able to access the said portal and the games available through it.
At the same time, Sony Ericsson made the storefront available for Xperia acro (IS11S) devices on KDDI’s network.
To benefit from access to these titles, users will have to install two apps on their devices, namely the Playstation pocket and the PlayStation Store. They can be found on Sony’s website here
The deal is even sweeter, as Sony Ericsson
decided to make the GOLF 2 game for free for all Xperia arc and Xperia acro users until February 8th next year.
For the time being, it appears that only users in Japan have access to these apps and to the associated service, though it might not be too long before more of them benefit from the feature.
