14 DAY TRIAL // Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has just announced plans to make the Xperia arc smartphone available for purchase in the United States in August, with a price tag of $599.99 attached to it in the Sony Retail stores, as well as online at store.sony.com. Moreover, the company announced that the smartphone will become available for purchase in the country via Amazon.com, Newegg.com, and Buy.com as well.
For the time being, the specific availability of Xperia arc at individual retailers was not unveiled, but more will emerge in the near future, Sony Ericsson announced.
Running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the Xperia arc smartphone comes to the market with appealing features and specs, and should easily prove as being one of the most appealing multimedia smartphones on the market.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc comes with a 4.2-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, and packs a fast 1GHz application processor inside.
Moreover, it was packed with an 8.1 megapixel camera with the Exmor R for mobile sensor, and is capable of recording videos in high-definition, while enabling users to view these videos on the larger screens of TVs via a built in HDMI-connector.
“The Xperia arc’s eye-catching curvature design allows it to fit perfectly in the user’s hand. The smartphone is just 8.7 mm at its thinnest part and has an extra wide 4.2-inch multi-touch screen,” the leading handset vendor notes.
The handset will be available in Midnight Blue in the Sony Store, and will arrive in Midnight Blue and Misty Silver via Newegg.com, Buy.com and Amazon.com
