Xperia Z2, the latest flagship Android-based handset from Japanese mobile phone maker Sony, is finally becoming available for purchase across Europe, as the official Sony Store is now listing it as in stock.

The device was added to the company’s portal a few months ago, when Sony also kicked off the pre-order period for it, but supply issues pushed back its availability by several weeks.

However, it seems that Sony might have finally resolved any issues it had with the Xperia Z2 stock, and that it is finally getting ready to make it available for purchase unlocked and SIM-free on the old continent.

As XperiaBlog notes, the Xperia Z2 is now available on Sony Mobile’s online portal in countries such as Germany (€679/941), France (€699/$969), Italy (€699/$969), Poland (PLN 2,799/$925/€667), Sweden (SEK 5,995/$918/€663) and the UK (£599/$1,012/€730).

It’s unclear how many Xperia Z2 units the company has put up for sale now, as the device is already selling out in some markets. For example, the Black variant of the device is no longer available in Italy, Poland and the UK.

However, since the phone is starting to appear as available, it might not be too long before Sony is finally ready to make it available for purchase in more markets out there.

Yesterday, the phone landed on shelves in the UK via various retailers and wireless carriers, after being available for order online for a few weeks.

Starting this summer, the handset is expected to be released in the United States as well, where it will be sold unlocked and SIM-free, through the Sony Store portal.

Sony Xperia Z2 was made official in February, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and was initially expected to become available for purchase in some markets out there before the end of March.

The handset features a 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM.

Moreover, the handset arrives on the market with 16GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and the usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors packed inside.

On the back, Xperia Z2 features a 20.7-megapixel camera with 4K video recording capabilities, paired with a 2MP front camera for video calling. The smartphone runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, with Sony’s own set of customizations and exclusive features loaded on top.
