Xperia Z1, Sony’s latest Android-based flagship device, has been officially announced for Japan’s au by KDDI today, and it should arrive on shelves at the carrier before the end of October.

Just as previously rumored, the mobile phone will be launched in Japan in Black, Purple, and White, with a series of features that are not available inside the international version, XperiaBlog notes.

Among these, we can count the inclusion of 32GB of internal memory inside the device, compared to only 16GB on the Global model, along with an Infrared (IR Blaster) sensor, One-Seg, and Full-Seg TV support.

However, it appears that the smartphone will not feature the battery-saving STAMINA mode in Japan, though it will sport all the other features it was announced with.

Xperia Z1 (SOL23) will land at the carrier with a 5-inch full HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, and 2GB of RAM. It will also feature a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, front camera for video calling, and IP55/IP58 dust and water resistance certification.
