The leaked software comes from the commercial and journalist device

During the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony made its new Xperia Z1 Compact official, a smaller version of the Xperia Z1 flagship device, and the first software for the smartphone is now available online.

Said build was published on XDA-Developers by the UXT team and comes as version 14.2.A.1.114, supposedly destined for the commercial and journalist version of the handset. However, the retail flavor of the software should not be too different from this release, XperiaGuide suggests.

Given that the ftf file is destined specifically for the Xperia Z1 Compact, it is not advised to try and cross flash it on other smartphones.

Unfortunately, the mobile phone will hit shelves only in February, which means that the leaked software won’t do much for most people out there. Devs and modders, however, will be able to learn more on what the phone has to offer.
