Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has started delivering a new software update for the owners of Xperia Z smartphones in its homeland market, so as to resolve some of the issues that the device was found to be affected by.

The update is said to be currently rolling out to the Xperia Z (SO-02E) model at NTT DOCOMO, and to arrive on devices as version 10.1.D.0.333.

According to a recent post on XperiaBlog, the software update resolves the sudden death issue that the phone was recently found to suffer from, and also brings along a “White balance” display calibration setting, the same as on Xperia ZL.

No specific info on when the update might be released on devices in other markets around the world as well, but chances are that it will start arriving on Xperia Z (C660X) in the not too distant future, so stay tuned.
