Android enthusiasts in the United States interested in the purchase of a large handset that can deliver a pure Google experience should have a look at the offer currently available for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition.

The handset has received a $200 (€143) price cut, and those who will head over to the Google Play store to purchase it will have to pay only $449 (€325) for it, contract-free.

The smartphone was made official last year as a larger version of the Xperia Z, packing a 6.4-inch Full HD touchscreen display and a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor inside.

Moreover, the phone features 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, the device features an 8-megapixel camera with support for full HD video recording, paired with a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The specs list of this device also includes a 3000mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, NFC capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors. The handset runs under Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is expected to be among the first to receive new OS updates for a while longer.
