Virgin Media has recently added the Android-based LG InTouch Max to its offering, and now it announces the launch of more handsets powered by Google's mobile operating system. According to the wireless carrier, the new phones are set to soon become available on its airwaves and should offer users the possibility to enjoy an enhanced entertainment and browsing experience. The list of devices includes the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy Portal, along with the already announced LG InTouch Max.

According to the company, the new phones will also enable users to personalize their experience through thousands of apps, widgets and games, all of which are available for download via the Android Market. Not to mention that the new handsets will also come bundled with a series of appealing tariffs when becoming available for purchase in the following weeks.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is expected to become available for purchase for Virgin Mobile's users in April, bringing along the Mediascape and Timescape solutions from its maker, and enabling them to easily organize content on their handsets. One can manage all conversations on Facebook, Twitter, emails, texts and more via the Timescape application, while Mediascape offers the simple management of music, photos and videos.

The HTC Desire, due come April, boasts a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor inside, along with a highly responsive, 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video-recording capabilities, not to mention the appealing connectivity options it comes around with. Users can easily stay in touch with social-networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, while also benefitting from all the features Google's Android 2.1 OS brings along.

The Samsung Galaxy Portal is already available on pay monthly tariffs from the carrier, and one can have it for free on a £22 per-month plan (which also includes 250 minutes, Unlimited texts plus Unlimited mobile Internet). With a 3.2-inch screen and a 3.2-megapixel camera, the Galaxy Portal also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as GPS capabilities, no to mention that Samsung has just released the Andorid 2.1 OS update for it.

“The LG InTouch Max is an Android powered and Wi-Fi enabled handset which can automatically link onto all your favourite social networking sites so you can stay in touch with everyone and access the ever-growing world of applications. It also comes with an easy-to-use touch-screen and slide out 5-line QWERTY keyboard,” the carrier states. The phone is available now on a range of pay monthly tariffs, including for free on a £22 per-month tariff (250 minutes, Unlimited texts plus Unlimited mobile Internet).
