Sony outed the latest firmware version 9.1.A.1.140 for Xperia V less than two weeks ago, but no changelog was attached to the update.

However, the folks over at XperiaBlog have been tipped on at least one issue that has been addressed in this firmware.

According to Sony Mobile DK, in addition to some general improvements, the last update pushed to Xperia V should fix the problem some owners have experienced with the screen going black and not being able to turn the phone on/off without having to pull out the battery.

The information seems to be correct as Xperia V owners claim they have not experienced the “sleep of death” issue anymore after applying the latest update.

Hopefully, Sony Xperia V users will now be able to enjoy a much smoother experience with their handsets, now that the issue that made their devices unstable has been fixed.
