Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has reportedly started to push out a new software update for the owners of the Xperia U (ST25) smartphone, namely firmware version 6.1.1.B.1.100.

Unfortunately, the new software flavor is still based on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system version, and keeps the 3.0.8 kernel, as XperiaBlog notes in a recent post.

Apparently, no specific info on what was included in the new release when compared to the previously available firmware version 6.1.1.B.1.89 for the device has been provided as of now.

However, it seems that the update might have packed various minor bug fixes and enhancements inside.

Users should already see the update arriving on their Xperia U (ST25) handsets, although it’s yet uncertain how long it will take for it to become available for all of them.
