Soon, wireless carrier AT&T will make available for purchase a new Android-based smartphone aimed at impressing users in many respects, namely the Xperia TL.

Unveiled officially on Monday, the handset will hit shelves with a range of exclusive content from the James Bond movie Skyfall, and is being touted as the carrier’s Bond phone.

Those who would like to have a closer look at the device or to learn more on its features and capabilities can now head over to Sony’s website for that.

The company has launched a product page for the Xperia TL, offering not only info on its specs and functionality, but also a series of high-resolution photos with the phone.

Packing a large 4.6-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, the new device is also capable of providing great performance levels courtesy of the included 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait MSM8260-A Dual Core processor.

“The Xperia TL’s HD Reality Display lets you see everything sharper, faster, better. See your photos like never before with the ‘Album’ app. Videos and pictures are crisp in every detail with no jagged edges or blurry faces. Your memories have never been more beautiful,” Sony explains.

The smartphone’s imaging capabilities are as appealing as they can be too, courtesy of a 13-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and support for recording full HD videos, complemented by specific software coming from Sony.

“Life’s most unforgettable moments are often the least expected. That’s why Xperia TL’s 13MP fast capture HD camera goes from sleep to snap in just over a second,” the company notes.

“Video chats are so crisp, the miles between you disappear. Its slim, ergonomic arc design makes it easy to hold and control, so you can easily shoot video in full 1080p HD.”

Powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system at the moment, the new smartphone is expected to receive an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the not too distant future.
