Later during the ongoing year, owners of an Xperia PLAY smartphone from Sony Ericsson will have the possibility to enjoy a series of new games specifically designed for their devices.

Some of these new mobile titles have been showcased during the E3 event, and video presentations are now available for those who would like to learn some more on them.

A total number of over 20 new games should make their way to the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY in the coming months, but only a few of them were showcased at the said event.

Embedded below, you can see three videos presenting upcoming games for the first PlayStation certified handset in the world, namely Cracking Sands, Desert Winds, and Pocket Legends.

Cracking Sands from Polarbit should be released on Xperia PLAY later this year, but no specific info on when that might happen emerged for the time being.

This is an action-packed desert racer, in which users will enjoy driving small vehicles that sport big guns.

“And if that isn’t exciting enough, you also get fully customizable karts, downloadable extra tracks, ghost racing and Facebook integration,” Sony Ericsson's Rikard Skogberg notes in a blog post.

“Reckless racing from Polarbit is one of my personal favorites on Xperia PLAY already so I really look forward to this one.”

Another game showcased at E3 was Desert Winds, a title that should prove among the most visually impressive games ever created for mobile devices.

The game will come to Xperia PLAY soon, bringing along its “beautiful, deadly star,” princess Amira, the main character of the story.

“Her name is Amira, she’s a beautiful princess determined to avenge the death of her parents and regain her desert kingdom,” the aforementioned blog post reads.

And there is also the mobile MMO game called Pocket Legends, coming from Spacetime Studios, which is already available for Android, but which should soon land in a new flavor, optimized for the Xperia PLAY.

“It’s a massive game with tons of users on Android and iOS already but freeing that screen from your fingers with optimized controls on the Xperia PLAY gamepad should be something to really look forward to,” Rikard Skogberg states.

The third video below will show you the video presentation of this game from E3, where the developers introduced at times a green Android robot in the online world, offering Xperia PLAY buttons to players who waved at him.
