Microsoft is currently gearing for the release of what was said to be the Windows Phone 7.5 flavor of their mobile operating system, but ideas on what the next flavor of the mobile platform, supposedly called Windows Phone 8, already started to emerge.

Only in the form of concepts at the moment, these ideas point to a highly appealing OS, which should run on equally impressive mobile phones, and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Leon by Victor Cao is one of them.

Of course, Sony Ericsson did not launch a Windows Phone 7 device, and even suggested that it would take its time before releasing one, but this concept device could easily become reality, especially since it includes design elements already familiar to Xperia fans.

First of all, we should note that the concept phone is supposedly packing a dual core 2GHz application processor inside, which should deliver great performance levels to those who will purchase it.

The rest of the phone's specifications would impress as well, including the 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD 1080p at 60 fps video recording capabilities and multi LED flash, complemented by a 3.2MP front camera for video calling.

It would also sport an incredibly slim body, a 1080p OLED touchscreen, FC, wireless HDMI, and a 1800 mAh battery inside to provide it with extended usage time.

The handset would include some of the most popular technologies from Sony, such as a 4.4-inch Bravia 1080p screen, Walkman music player, PlayStation certification, and more.

It would boast a series of specific Windows Phone 8 features as well, such as a concept Transolid UI, along with a new version of the Office suite.

All in all, the concept device is a dream mobile phone of the future, with a slim, impressive outer design, powerful hardware capabilities, and matching software inside.

Whether Sony Ericsson would indeed come to the market with a Windows Phone 8 smartphone that would look like Xperia Leon, it remains to be seen. In the meantime, however, have a look at the available photos with the concept device, courtesy of concept-phones.

If Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 comes out with this model, it would be the most impressive, and most captivating and innovating product for the smartphone market, this will give competitors a taste of their own medicine. And it's about time they added the Aero Glass design to Windows Phone, and the ability to change backgrounds. Hope this become reality. Fingers crossed.

I think 4G support should be added and also a slim sliding keyboard like the Xperia X1 and X2 and also a stylus(its not required but makes other people wonder when you use something like that). Also LEDs for notifications like in the X1 and X2 for missed calls messages.
Its just a concept phone, sony erricssion just first approve wether they are going to make it
