One of the smartphones that Sony is expected to make available for purchase in Japan before the end of this year is the Xperia Dogo, a high-end handset said to be en route to the market in the second half of the year.

The handset hasn’t been officially unveiled as of now, but what appear to be camera samples from it have been spotted on Picasa recently, confirming that it will be launched at NTT DOCOMO (the phone was powered by software 10.1.1.D.0.91_3_f520, rbmen notes).

Said to hit shelves as Xperia Dogo SO-04E, the phone will arrive on shelves with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, a 4.65-inch screen capable of delivering a 1280x720 pixels resolution, waterproof and dustproof capabilities, and a curved body, it seems.

The phone is expected to become official sometime in mid-2013, so stay tuned for more on it.
