Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro is the latest smartphone that Sony Ericsson is expected to bring to the market in Japan in the near future, with Google's Android operating system on board, and support for the network of the country's largest carriers, NTT DOCOMO and KDDI.

We already had the chance to take a look at the new mobile phone, which should be launched in Japan as a bulkier version of the Xperia arc, and some more info on what the handset would pack inside emerged.

The new details are available courtesy of a twenty-page presentation of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro (available here), which contains some parts in Japanese, and which provides some general specs, colors and pictures of the device.

The same as Xperia arc, the new Acro should land with a 4.2-inch touchscreen Reality Display, which can deliver a 854 x 480 pixels resolution.

Moreover, the new mobile phone should arrive on the market with512MB of RAM, 1GB of internal memory, and support for additional storage space through microSD memory cards.

On the back, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro should sport an 8-megapixel photo snapper (Exmor R for mobile), with 720p HD video recording capabilities.

The specs list available on the new mobile phone also shows that it should land on shelves with Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities, along with Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G (with support for 14Mbps on the downlink, and 5.7Mbps on the uplink).

The upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro measures 127 x 62 x 11.5 mm, which makes it thicker than the Xperia arc. The new mobile phone weighs in at 134 grams. It should pack a 1500 mAh battery inside.

For the time being, however, nothing was officially confirmed on the existence of this device, even if the phone leaked on the Internet before. Even so, rumor has it that Sony Ericsson might unveil the new device soon, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
