Indian OEM Xolo announced the immediate availability of Q800 X-Edition. The smartphone is now available for purchase at all major retailers across the country for only Rs 11,999, which is about $195 or €145.

As fonearena points out, the Indian company launched the standard Xolo Q800 back in spring as its first quad-core smartphone.

Both handsets come with similar features, but Xolo chose another chipset that packs a PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit over the MediaTek MT6589M chip included in the standard version.

Xolo Q800 X-Edition sports a large 4.5-inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 245ppi (pixel density).

As we have mentioned earlier, the smartphone comes equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor inside, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit clocked at 286 MHz, as well as 1GB of RAM.

The device is only 9.6mm thick and weighs around 143g (battery included). It ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and offers dual-SIM support.

On the back, the dual-SIM smartphone boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel main camera with LED flash, autofocus BSI sensor and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary 1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Although Xolo Q800 X-Edition comes packed with only 4GB of internal memory, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, HSDPA (21Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps) connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, built-in GPS and 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

It is also worth mentioning that customers will only be able to pick the Xolo Q800 X-Edition in black color. No word on whether the Indian company plans to introduce additional color options for this mid-range smartphone.
