Today, Xolo has officially introduced the Xolo Q1200 smartphone on the market in India, after the device popped up online last week.

The mobile phone, announced as part of the company’s Q-CORE series, arrives on shelves with some appealing capabilities, though it is only a mid-range smartphone.

The price tag this handset sports, however, should help it appeal to users in the country, as it is available for purchase at only Rs. 13,999 ($237/€174).

Xolo Q1200 comes to the market with a unibody metallic design, while also packing a series of software features that include Gesture control for easily browsing pictures, changing videos and tracks.

Moreover, as fonearena notes, the mobile phone also arrives on shelves with Voice Recognition, allowing users to perform actions such as accepting calls and snoozing alarms.

Other features that the new Xolo Q1200 sports are: Float Task dual window, enabling users to pin apps to the Float Task screen, along with double touch to wake up on the lock screen, and smart reading, among others.

Xolo announced the new mobile phone with a 5-inch IPS touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, as well as with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor.

Additionally, the new device features Mali 400 MP2 graphics, along with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot was also included in the handset, allowing users to add some extra storage to it when needed.

On the back, the Xolo Q1200 sports an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED Flash and the Sony Exmor R sensor, which means that it will be able to deliver an appealing imaging experience to its owners.

Moreover, the smartphone packs a 2MP camera on the front, which should easily prove a great option for making video calls while on the go.

Connectivity-wise, the handset was launched with support for 3G networks, as well as with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. It should also be mentioned that Xolo packed a GPS receiver inside the device, along with USB OTG (on-the-go) functionality.

Xolo Q1200 is powered by a 2000mAh battery and arrives on shelves with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top right from the start.

However, Xolo claims that the new device will receive an update to the Android 4.4 KitKat platform iteration, though it has not provided specific info on when that might happen.

The mobile phone is already available for purchase online, for the aforementioned Rs. 13,999 ($237/€174). However, those who will order it will have to wait until June 10 to receive it.
