A new version for XnView has been released, bringing to the table plenty of bug fixes but, more importantly, it comes with extended support for RAW format.

Camera RAW read support in the latest release of the image viewer includes cameras such as Mamiya, Leaf, Hasselblad, Epson, Imacon and Sinar.

Its functionality is increased by introducing the possibility to write EXIF for TIFF images as well as ability to read JPEG XR format, which supports both lossless and lossy compression.

The set of improvements in the application cover bugs spotted years ago, like the “date taken” EXIF data, which was reported back in 2009. That was also the year for reporting XnView’s limitation as far as changing the font in the slideshow, the users having “Arial” as the only choice until now; and there are plenty of other fixes noticed that year.

You can check this page for the full changelog of the release.
