Insofar as CPUs and graphics cards are concerned anyway

It appears that, yet again, a computer case has been given a name involving the word “cube” without actually being a cube.

Not that we can entirely fault Xigmatek for this crime against English semantics. After all, it's not the first company that committed it, and it won't be the last.

Jokes aside, though, the new Erix chassis is certainly stockier than other desktop cases. Also, it is “longer,” or deeper depending on the term you prefer.

Essentially, it is shaped in such a way as to hold the mini-ITX motherboard vertically and full-length graphics cards on top (two expansion slots with 300 mm / 11.81 support), as well as CPU coolers of up to 140 mm / 5.51 inches in height.

Other assets include a pair of 3.5-inch drive bays (one can be used for 2.5-inch drives), a pair of 120 mm top exhaust areas, two 80 mm side exhausts, and an 80 mm rear exhaust mesh.

Intake is done through several other spots, so that airflow may be as efficient as possible.

Unfortunately, Xigmatek hasn't shared the pricing and availability details of the Eris mini-iTX PC case. Which is a bit surprising, seeing how the equally new Maverick S PSUs didn't debut without those details.
