Mi3 was not the only Android-based smartphone that Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi made official in India on Tuesday, as its Redmi 1S and Redmi Note devices suffered a similar fate.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S arrives on shelves in India as the cheapest device in the series, with a price tag of only Rs. 6,999 ($116/€85.5) attached to it.

The phone will be available for purchase in the country in the not-too-distant future in a variety of color options, Xiaomi has officially announced.

This handset sports a 4.7-inch IPS touchscreen display that can deliver a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) processor.

Moreover, the mobile phone boasts Adreno 305 graphics, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes. Dual-SIM capabilities were also included in the device.

On the back, Xiaomi Redmi 1S sports an 8-megapixle camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, and full HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a 1.6MP front-facing camera for making video calls.

The specs list of this device also includes 3G connectivity, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB OTG capabilities, and GPS receiver. Moreover, the phone is powered by a 2000mAh battery and runs under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the MIUI v5 interface loaded on top.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note, on the other hand, was announced with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 ($166/€122) attached to it, which makes it a rather affordable phablet. It will land in India soon, on White, but will also feature a range of colored back covers, fonearena notes.
