It only took Xiaomi one week to put the Mi4 on sale in China, but for the time being, only the 3G variant can be purchased from the company’s online store.

The 3G-only Xiaomi Mi4 with 16GB of storage can now be ordered for only 2,000 yuan outright, which is about $325 or €240. This is a great deal for those living in China considering the phone’s specs sheet.

We reported yesterday on Mi4’s pre-orders, that had just gone live in Italy, but European customers will only receive their smartphone on or around August 10.

It’s unclear when Xiaomi will start shipping the Mi4 units ordered in China, but we do know the 3G-only 16GB model is only working on China Unicom network, so keep that in mind before placing your order.

It’s also worth mentioning that the 4G model is likely to go on sale in China on August 9, but this has yet to be confirmed by Xiaomi in the next couple of days.

Xiaomi will also launch a 64GB model, which will be available for purchase for 2,400 yuan ($390 / €290) off contract. No exact release date is available for this variant, but we will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter.

The Mi4 was officially introduced last week, and for those who missed the announcement, here is a quick rundown of its features. First of all, the smartphone ships with Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system out of the box with the MIUI user interface on top.

On the inside, Xiaomi Mi4 is armed with a powerful 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

As mentioned earlier, the device may pack 16GB or 64GB of internal memory. The bad news is Xiaomi Mi4 does not feature microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the back, the Mi4 features an enhanced 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary no less impressive 8-megapxiel camera for selfies and video calls.

Xiaomi Mi4 boasts a 5-inch IPS LCD full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display with 441ppi (pixel per inch). The smartphone also offers various connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, microUSB, and GPS with A-GPS support.

It’s also worth mentioning that Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone is powered by a high-capacity 3080 mAh non-removable battery that should provide up to 280 hours of standby time.
