Xenonauts, a strategy game developed and published on Steam by Goldhawk Interactive, will soon get a Linux version soon.

Xenonauts has been released for almost on year on the Windows platform, but the developers are preparing to also release a Linux version. Xenonauts is in the Early Access Game program, which means that Xenonauts is still under development, but users can still purchase it.

“This is a strategy game in which you control a multi-national military organization defending a Cold War-era Earth from alien invasion, using small squads of persistent soldiers to eliminate the extraterrestrials and recover their technology in turn-based ground combat” reads the synopsis of the game.

If you think that the gameplay seems similar with the Xcom titles, you are correct, although it’s a lot more like with the old titles in the series than the new ones.

The information about the Linux version is taken from the Steam database and by no means is it completely certain. The Steam Database is a record of data that describes every Steam game and subscription provided by Valve for the Steam service.

Usually, the new entries are first visible in the Steam Database before their official launch. There is no indication of when Xenonauts will hit the Linux platform.
