O2 Asia will provide a free upgrade for their Xda Zinc smartphone model. This is great news, as owners of this handset will be able to benefit in the future from the most evolved solutions for mobile communication.

Windows Mobile 5 was not all that bad either, but the fact that Xda Zinc now comes with the latest version for this working platform is excellent. Even more, the fact that downloading this latest version of Windows Mobile comes for free has high chances of making many customers happy with O2's services.

This is not the only upgrade that O2 has had to offer to its subscribers until now. They also plan on developing several key areas, such as messaging and collaboration. Moreover, the infrastructure interoperability, as well as security and platform development, all look for future upgrades. Email services will also come at new performances, along with live links to Web and SharePoint sites.

Xda Zinc is especially designed for providing best performances in sending and receiving messages. This smartphone comes with full QWERTY keypad, which makes it perfect for providing an experience similar to that of sending emails from a PC. Xda Zinc comes with a built-in Wireless LAN and Intel XScale? PXA 270 Processor.

All these come packed in a classic smartphone design meant to provide, first of all, reliable services and practical features for its user. The fact that it comes with 3G capabilities makes it excellent for video calling, messaging and viewing web pages, as well as transferring information at a fast rate.

The upgrade requires a Windows 2000 or XP PC with ActiveSync 4.5 or later in order to best take effect. Other operating systems, like Windows Vista, are not supported, which might be quite disappointing for the few who are currently using this version.
