One more Xda phone goes to O2 and both the Pay-as-you-Go option and the monthly payments plans are available. The distribution of an Xda is for the first time included with a Pay-as-you-Go option, and this could create a precedent for other Xda phones to come.

The Zest was created by Asus especially for O2 and, given that the smartphone features have been rigorously obeyed, this creation will not disappoint smartphone fans. It's equipped with a GPS system, as already noted, and it also comes with a two-week trial satellite navigation Co-Pilot system and maps for both the UK and Ireland.

Other features include a 2.8-inch VGA TFT touch screen display, 128 MB of SD RAM, 256 MB of Flash ROM, powered by a Marvell Tavor P624 MHz processor. This tri-band GPRS/EDGE phone also comes with 3G support. Also including built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSDPA connectivity, a 3 Megapixel camera and a secondary video call camera, microSD card slot and MP3 player, the Xda makes a pretty nice impression right from the start.

In addition, users will have access to Word, Excel and Power Point applications for a greater range of options in editing and operating on the 6.1 Windows Mobile platform.

O2 stores will be distributing the Xda starting November 17. On the Pay&Go option, the price will be of 249.99 pounds, while more information will be made available in O2 stores as regards the monthly payments. O2 stores also offer the iPhone 3G on the Pay&Go plan for 349.99 pounds for the 8BG version, whereas the 16GB version goes for 399.99 pounds.

Rumors are spreading that Asus is soon to release a new line of smartphones created and branded by it, on the Google Android OS.
