After months of beta testing, Xcode 5.0 Final has hit the Mac App Store as a free download to anyone with an interest in creating Mac and iOS apps using the latest coding technologies.

Xcode 5 is freely available to anyone who holds an Apple ID and can download apps from the iTunes Store.

It includes SDKs for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and iOS 7 and LLVM compiler builds 64-bit apps for iOS 7 (targeting the A7 processor in the iPhone 5s).

An Automatic Configuration feature enables services like iCloud and Game Center with a single click, and Test Navigator helps developers add, edit, and run unit tests much faster.

Tests and code can be displayed side-by-side for test-driven development with Test Assistants, while UIs can be demoed in portrait or landscape, for iOS 6 or iOS 7, using Preview Assistant. Other new features include Asset Catalog, Debug Gauges, Source Control, and more.
