Always a good sport, he has also mentioned being excited about Sony's presentation

With E3 2014 looming over us, it's time to get moderately excited about all the reveals that the major players in the video game market are about to make.

The new head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, is oiling the hype machine, while getting ready to depart for Los Angeles, where the convention is taking place.

He has taken to Twitter to drop a few more hints on what gamers will be able to see at the press conference, as well as afterwards, mentioning that there are "a few" unannounced games in Microsoft's line-up that he is excited about and that he expects to be hits, while also mentioning that something "special" will be done after the show is over.

"We are doing something new after our briefing that I'm hoping becomes special. Best part of show to me, walking the floor," Spencer tweets.

He's had more control over the press conference this year, and he has promised the gaming world that the presentation will be all about games, which is, of course, what everyone looks to E3 for. As such, he has admitted to being a bit nervous about the whole thing.

"Yea, a little nervous about that but it will be a show based on what I think XBOX is about," the Xbox head honcho says.

Always a good sport, Spencer has also stated that he looks forward to see what Sony has to bring to this edition of the E3, mentioning that he would like to see some of his favorite franchises make the Japanese corporation's line-up.

"Looking forward to what they show. Old PS franchises I played, Mark of Kri, War of Monsters, Ico, Frequency, cool to see these," Spencer has said, taking a trip down memory lane.

He has then restated Microsoft's commitment to gaming, saying that, although the Xbox can't own all the great games, the company is still determined to keep investing in great 1st-party IPs, with his goal being to own whatever they found, but that there will also be exceptions, such as Sunset Overdrive.

Finally, he has also mentioned that Microsoft is also considering giving some love to smaller digital titles, as the company's own studios will explore new creative ideas that don't always translate well into AAA titles.

"Yea, I like the creativity in this space, not all play mechanics support 8 hours of AAA gameplay. Huge fan of this space," Spencer has responded to a fan.

Phil Spencer is so far doing a good job of keeping people interested in what the Xbox has to offer, as well as building up the console's fans' trust in the Xbox One's future, in spite of Sony's PlayStation 4 greatly surpassing its hardware sales.
