The new controller Nintendo plans to introduce together with their latest console system, Nintendo Revolution, has been enthusiastically received by critics and consumers alike.
However, J. Allard, Xbox 360's father, is not so thrilled about the remote-like device's concept. Not because the product comes
from the competition (which would have been alright), but because, as Allard stated in an interview for Game Informer, the new controller cannot be used for racing and sports titles.
Allard said that games such as the ones published by Electronic Arts' won't be playable with the Revolution controller. He also claims to have had the same idea, but gave up the project after consulting with gamers and game producers.
Still, Allard is not completely against the idea to introduce simpler controllers, and said that Xbox 360 might also benefit from such a device. He admitted that the Revolution and its controller might prove to be perfect for the first-party type games and that is why it will be very well received by the gamers.
