Since Xbox Video and Music have been released as separate applications, Microsoft delivered lots of updates in order to make them functional.

There have been quite a few months since these apps started being updated regularly twice a month, but they are still far from offering a smooth user experience.

The last update for the Video app for Windows Phone doesn’t help too much either. Even though updates are always good, Windows Phone users expect a lot more changes that would make Xbox Video finally functional.

Anyway, according to the Xbox Video Team, the newest version of the application (version 1.6.284.0 on Windows Phone 8 and 2.6.284.0 on Windows Phone 8.1) brings a few bug fixes and improvements.

The official changelog mentions that Xbox Video users should notice that the status messages during content downloads have been improved.

In addition, developers also fixed an issue that caused HD purchase to be unavailable for some content. Last but not least, some polish fixes and general improvements have been included in the update as well.

You can now download Xbox Video for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up (including 8.1).

On a side note, we expect Microsoft to deliver a new update for Xbox Music application as well, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
