After quite a bit of waiting, Microsoft now allows Windows 10 PC users to stream gameplay from their Xbox One consoles to their computers. A full FAQ detailing all sorts of specific information is also available, in order to better help those who want to play console games on the PC.

Windows 10's Xbox integration has been detailed for quite some time now, as Microsoft is making a big push into the gaming sphere with its new operating system, which is set to drop for PCs on July 29 and for the Xbox One later in the year, most probably in September, by recent estimates.

Xbox One to Windows 10 PC streaming is finally available for all

One interesting feature presented by Microsoft some time ago was the possibility of streaming an Xbox One game from the console to a Windows 10 PC. The situation can finally be replicated by regular users, as anyone with a PC who has installed the latest Windows 10 preview version can start streaming footage from their Xbox One to that computer. More specifically, Windows 10 version 10130 is needed and Xbox app version 5.6.11034.

According to a big FAQ from Microsoft, via DualShockers, most Xbox One games will be available for this streaming procedure, although those that employ the Kinect or other, special hardware can't be transmitted to the PC. During the streaming, you won't be able to use the Xbox One's built-in GameDVR or Twitch broadcasting services. However, if your PC is powerful enough, you can still use the GameDVR from the Xbox app in Windows 10.

An Xbox Live Gold membership isn't required to stream games, but it's still necessary if you want to play them online on the PC. You can use a wired Xbox One controller, but also an older Xbox 360 or Xbox-licensed gamepads that have to be connected to the computer.
