The development team at Microsoft working on the Xbox One is getting ready to launch the official Twitch streaming app for the next gen console and it is delivering a new video which shows off its most important features.

In an official announcement on the Major Nelson blog, maintained by community manager Larry Hryb, the team explains exactly how those who want to stream game content need to prepare for its arrival.

The process includes changes to some privacy settings and choosing whether to broadcast only gameplay or gameplay that also includes what the player is doing using the Kinect.

The process sounds pretty simply and all those gamers interested in sharing content with their friends will probably be happy to download the Twitch app and use it as soon as it is launched.

The same capability has been offered on the rival PlayStation 4 from Sony since it was launched and at one point Twitch claimed that 20 percent of its traffic was coming from the device, although the number has probably since dropped.

The Xbox One launched happens just before the arrival of the new Titanfall shooter from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts, which should provide players with plenty of opportunities to stream interesting matches.
