The Xbox One has certainly been getting a lot of attention lately, and the developers at Microsoft seem to be intent on delivering heaps of fixes and new features to the home entertainment system.

After some leaks from the private beta forums, Redmond has confirmed some of the upcoming functionality additions in the Xbox One April update, coming with various firmware updates, better support for the Blu-Ray player, improved wireless connectivity and less audio static over the headset.

Additionally, for those who always wanted to take part in the beta test for upcoming Xbox One software updates but have never received an invite into the preview program, there is great news.

A recent Reddit thread informs that the preview app has been updated, and that those who are already taking part in the testing process can now invite friends to the beta.

The preview app now has an "Invite a friend" button that does just that, so if you know someone who is already in, all you have to do is ask for an invite.

The downside is that, as with any beta test, or rather more than in the case of just any ordinary beta test, you'll be taking part in the testing process of a critical part of the console's operating system, and that means that there is a big chance you'll experience some kind of bugs and problems that might impact and interfere with your gaming experience.
