Microsoft today rolled out a new version of Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows 8.1 that brings several new options, along with multiple bug fixes for both desktops and tablets.

According to the official release notes published in the store, the new version brings leaderboards, which allow you to head over to the game progress or game details to view “how you stack up compared to your friends This feature is now available on all platforms.”

At the same time, the app comes with improved navigation in Windows, as the company “added a drawer to Windows just like there exists in the other platforms. It should now be easier than ever to navigate around SmartGlass.”

Of course, the new version is now being delivered to everyone running Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1, but the software giant says that some issues have also been found. As a result, the friends section is slow to load on Windows and Windows Phone, but Microsoft promised to work on a fix as fast as possible.

Overall, there's no doubt that this update comes in handy to everyone who already purchased an Xbox One, so you should download Xbox One SmartGlass Beta for Windows 8.1 right now see what it's up to.
